Finally-Something to Write About!
I always feel like I should have some real reason for a blog…like a new trip or adventure or something…..or some big ‘projects’. So my husband, Robbie, and I have a couple of big projects to start soon and I will (hopefully) do a good job of documenting them on this.
The projects?
1. We’re supposed to close on a house on Dec. 1 (barring any unforeseen holdups) and it needs some work. It is a foreclosure but is exactly where we want to be in terms of location and was a good deal (at least, I think it is…kinda hard to tell from one day to the next at this point in time). But we’re going with it. We have plenty of things that we want to get done in a month’s time before we move in at the beginning of the year so there should be plenty to update with that one before long.
2. We were given a boat over the weekend! It’s kind of a long story, so to save some hand crampage: a guy that Robbie met through work had been given a sailboat by someone five (maybe more) years ago as a gift to congratulate him on his remission from cancer. Unfortunately, he never used the boat and it just took up a lot of space in his driveway. He felt like, since it had been given to him as a gift, he should give it as a gift to someone that might get some use out of it and would be willing to put some work into it. So Robbie’s gift of conversation paid off on that particular day when he asked about the boat. There was no cover on it for a lot of the time, so it got some water damage and deterioration. It needs some work and we need to learn how to sail. But what an amazing gift!! The end result should be pretty fun! So I’ll document those too.
